LO 4. Be able to describe and analyze discrete objects and systems, using the concepts and methods of discrete mathematics and algorithm theory. LO 16. Demonstrate skills of interaction with other people, ability to work in teams. PLO 25.1. Be able to use computer systems for the implementation of computational algorithms and mathematical modeling.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
They know approaches to mathematical modeling and mathematical methods of solving various types of problems, algorithms of applied mathematics, programming, etc. They can analyze and prove mathematical statements, design and develop programs in at least one modern programming language, read and understand scientific (mathematical) texts, apply mathematical methods to specific problems. They should be able to working with sources and searching for information, expressing one's own opinion orally and in writing, communicating with colleagues and teachers on research topics.
Course content
The course work is a selective component of the educational and professional training program for specialists at the first (bachelor) level of higher education in the field of knowledge 11 "Mathematics and Statistics" in the specialty 113 "Applied Mathematics" within the educational and professional program "Applied Mathematics" of the selective block "Computational Mathematics". The goal of the discipline is systematization, consolidation and expansion of students' theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of applied mathematics. Development of skills in the application of applied mathematics approaches to solving specific problems. Development of basic research skills.

Consultations with a scientific supervisor, independent work; defense of coursework.
Assessment methods and criteria
Semester assessment. The maximum/minimum number of points is 100/60 points, of which: Justification of the relevance of the work topic:10 points/6 points. Processing and use of scientific literature: 15 points / 9 points. Reasonability of the research methodology:10 points/6 points. The quality of the obtained results, their relevance to the research topic:30 points/18 points. Correspondence of conclusions to research tasks:5 points/3 points. Clarity of the structure and presentation of the material:5 points/3 points. Literacy:5 points/3 points. Quality of work design:5 points/3 points. Systematic performance of work:15 points/9 points. Final assessment: Credit points are determined as the sum of grades/points for all successfully evaluated learning outcomes provided by this program. Scores below the minimum threshold level are not added. The minimum threshold level for the total assessment for all components is 60% of the maximum possible number of points.
