Learning outcomes
The student must know the basic vocabulary of the modules (including terminology); grammatical structures, necessary for understanding and creating texts of a certain type, provided by the topics of the modules. The student must be able to find and process special information when reading authentic texts, as well as when listening to oral reports, messages, presentations related to the topics of the modules and future thesis; find key words and expressions for texts; concisely explain the content of the text, logically structuring ideas; use adequate lexical and grammatical forms; make short reports and messages on the relevant subject; to ask for the purpose of finding and obtaining essential information related to the subject of the modules; to argue their positions and clearly express their own reasoning; make presentations using modern technical means on topics related to the topic of the thesis or other topics in the field of information technologies.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
In order to successfully master the discipline "English in the field of information technology", students must have a level of English not lower than B1-B2. Since this discipline has a communicative orientation, it forms skills that turn the English language into a working tool, which will allow the future specialist to successfully conduct professional activities and constantly acquire new knowledge in accordance with their needs.
Course content
The main task of the course is to introduce the students' assimilation of general scientific and professional vocabulary according to the topics of the modules; grammatical and syntactic structures characteristic of the scientific and professional style of written and oral texts used in academic and professional environment, as well as the practical use of adequate language tools for effective oral and written communication.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Practical classes, independent work.
Assessment methods and criteria
The semester consists of two modules. The structure of each module includes two components: classroom work of the student and test. The final grade for each content module is the sum of the average grades for classroom and control work. The resulting sum of points is calculated as a simple accumulation of final points for content modules and credit, which is valued at a maximum of 40 points, and is a maximum of 100 points.
