Learning outcomes
An in-depth study of antenna systems, which is an important element of any telecommunications system that uses a radio communication channel. In particular, students master professional software for modeling antennas and antenna arrays and develop their own antenna design with given parameters.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
The practice of research, technical diagnostics and modeling of radio-electronic means and telecommunications systems requires students to have previously mastered the course "Antenna systems and technology of the microwave range", as well as the academic disciplines "Higher mathematics", "Electrodynamics and propagation of radio waves". Additional requirements: to know the laws describing the behavior of electric circuits, the main types of analog electronic devices used in radio electronics. Know and understand the basic laws of electrodynamics, in particular, the system of Maxwell's equations. To be able to use the apparatus of elementary and higher mathematics. Have basic skills in working with software packages.
Course content
MMANA program interface and its calculation capabilities. Analytical calculation of the parameters of a simple vibrating antenna and its modeling in MMANA. Construction of an antenna with given parameters and its simulation in the MMANA program. Study of the parameters of phased antenna arrays. The effect of the angle of the PAR beam on the sensitivity of the antenna and the appearance of its directional diagram.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The practice of research, technical diagnostics and modeling of radio-electronic means and telecommunications systems involves the implementation of the assigned task under the supervision of the head of the practice, analysis of the results, writing and defense of the report.
Assessment methods and criteria
Practice is evaluated on a 100-point scale by defending a written report (explanatory note) taking into account the assessment of the scientific supervisor.
