one of the main features of the "English language" course in non-language higher education institutions is its division into two directions - "General language" and "Language for professional purposes". They differ in the subject matter and lexical composition of the educational material, but are based on the same grammatical material. To successfully master the discipline, students must have a level of English at least B1-B2. Since this discipline has a communicative orientation, it forms skills that turn the English language into a working tool that
will allow the future specialist to successfully conduct professional activities and constantly acquire new knowledge in accordance with their needs.
