Learning outcomes
The student must know the subject and tasks of modern ecology as a science, modern approaches and provisions, concepts of ecosystem organization of life in the Earth's biosphere, basic methods of ecological research; understand the functional role of individual components of the ecosystem in the processes of formation of bioproductivity of ecosystems and environmental quality, the peculiarities of interaction and interrelationships of all components in the natural, social, economic and technological spheres, the student must be able to characterize the main global and regional environmental problems, the role of man and society in them arising and ways of overcoming them, choose adequate approaches to the assessment of the ecological situation, find and distinguish important ecological aspects in the technical, economic and social spheres of human activity.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. To know the main life forms of organisms.
2. To be able to analyze and interpret research results.
3. Possess elementary skills - working with reference literature and presenting information. To know the Ukrainian language at a basic level.
Course content
The discipline is a component of the cycle of fundamental, humanitarian and general economic training of specialists. The introduction of this discipline into the curriculum is recommended by the Scientific and Methodological Council of the university, since environmentalization of all spheres of human activity is a generally recognized priority of states and international institutions in the field of higher education. The subject of modern ecology is the relationship between organisms and the environment and the structural and functional organization of supraorganismal systems (populations, groups, ecosystems, biosphere), mechanisms for maintaining their stability in space and time. The discipline is the scientific basis of all environmental protection work, as well as an integral component of ecological management, ecological forecasting, optimization of certain forms of economic, social or other human activity

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures, independent work of an express survey, oral report, participation in the discussion, current control work, modular control work.
Assessment methods and criteria
The level of achievement of all planned learning outcomes is determined by the results of written test papers and the defense of laboratory works and individual tasks for independent performance.
The credit is given based on the results of the student's work throughout the entire semester and does not include additional assessment measures for successful students.
For students who scored a total of less than 60 points, in order to receive a credit, it is absolutely necessary to prepare material (not later than a week before the end of the course) on the topics for which the debt arose, in the form of writing current test papers, oral answers and performing independent written assignments.
