Learning outcomes
he student should know the systems of Maxwell's equations in differential and integral forms of writing, boundary conditions for electromagnetic waves in the microwave range, general properties of plane electromagnetic waves, inhomogeneous plane waves, TE and TM waves, general properties of microwave transmission lines, classification of microwave transmission lines, dispersion and cut-off phenomenon in microwave transmission lines.
The student must be able to obtain wave equations for waves in the microwave range, obtain dispersion relations for waves in the microwave range, obtain electric and magnetic permeability tensors, design and propose path elements of microwave signal processing devices.

The educational discipline "Microwave electronics and electrodynamics" is related to the educational disciplines "Mathematical analysis", "Electricity and magnetism", "Radio circuits and signals", "Differential equations and probability theory", "Fundamentals of physical electronics", "Oscillations and waves", which are taught at the Faculty of Radiophysics, Electronics and Computer Systems in the I, II, III years.
Course content
The educational discipline "Microwave electronics and electrodynamics" is a necessary component of forming the professional worldview of a specialist in the specialty "Applied physics". It contains general properties of electromagnetic waves, features of the microwave frequency range, basics of microwave electrodynamics, general properties of plane electromagnetic waves, general properties of microwave transmission lines.

Assessment methods and criteria
The course "Microwave Electronics and Electrodynamics" consists of three meaningful modules in the seventh semester.
The curriculum includes 3 credits (42 hours of lectures) for studying the course. Control of students' knowledge is carried out according to the modular rating system. There are 3 final module tests and a comprehensive final module (CPM) exam.
