Learning outcomes
The student should know: basic concepts, concepts and position of the relational theory. basic methods of object analysis and subject area connections, based on the mathematical apparatus of relational algebra; bases IDEF0, IDEF3, IDEF1X, and UML - standards in the development of data model projects; methods of equivalent transformations of relational structures for optimization data models; principles of designing effective data models of internal and external level representations subject area. The student should be able to: carry out algebraic transformations using the mathematical apparatus of relational algebra; use standard CASE tools when designing databases; to analyze the optimality and adequacy of data models for their compliance with technical conditions, and features of the subject area.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
The educational discipline "Organization of databases" is a mandatory part of the block of disciplines for the specialization "System Administrators" and uses the results of the study compulsory disciplines "Discrete mathematics", "Programming", "System programming", "Computer systems" and "Computer networks". Prerequisites: 1. Be able to perform calculations using the methods of discrete mathematics and Boolean algebra. 2. Know the basics of program development and tracing. 3. Have system analysis skills.
Course content
Studying the discipline "Organization of databases" allows you to understand the methods of creation optimal databases based on relational theory, conceptual features of relational algebra and its role in creating data models for systems from an arbitrary subject area. The discipline introduces the basic provisions of the relational theory and its conclusions, based on methods of data organization. The educational discipline focuses on studying approaches and methods of designing, creating, analyzing and optimizing data models aimed at reflecting the features of the functioning of complex systems of any kind subject area. The student acquires the basic skills of analyzing data structures and cross-sectional relationships creation of adequate data models, as well as the application of modern relational developments theories for solving practical applied problems.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lecture classes with the use of media equipment, laboratory work on computers, performance of tasks in practical classes, performance of tasks for independent work.
Assessment methods and criteria
Forms of student evaluation: the level of achievement of all planned learning outcomes is determined by the results of ongoing control over the process of laboratory work and evaluation of the final results of their implementation and by the results of independent tasks The academic semester has two content modules: the general evaluation during the semesters is performed based on the sum of the results of laboratory work. Completion of laboratory work in each of the modules with a total score of at least 15 points (out of 30) is mandatory for admission to credit. Final evaluation - in the form of an exam - interviews. (rated from 0 to 40 points). The condition for achieving a positive grade for a discipline is to obtain a total number of points (for the semester assessment and credit combined) of at least 60 points, while the grade for the final assessment cannot be less than 24 points.
