Learning outcomes
- to know the main methods and approaches to reconstructions based on archaeological sources, the doctrine of the economy of ancient societies;
- to know the history of the development of social relations and economic systems of the population of the Stone Age and paleometals;
- to know the history of the development of social and economic relations in the early Iron Age and the Middle Ages;
- to know the basic concepts of the development of human society, the formation of social institutions;
- to know the ways and forms of politogenesis on the territory of Ukraine;
- to be able to determine the significance of archaeological sources and complexes for reconstruction;
- conducting independent research at the reconstructive-theoretical level;
- professional knowledge of economic and social processes that took place on the territory of Ukraine from ancient times to the Middle Ages.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. To know
- the basics of archaeological periodization,
- basic concepts and terms from archeology,
- basics of typology and classification of archaeological materials;
- the main features of various archaeological cultures and the peculiarities of their scientific research;
- specificity of archaeological cultures of the territory of Ukraine.
2. To be able to determine the sequence and interdependence of archaeological processes.
3. Have elementary skills
- works with scientific and educational and methodical literature,
- source criticism,
- analysis and establishment of causal relationships.
Course content
The content of the course is divided into 2 content modules. Each content module includes lectures, seminars, independent work of students, which are completed by rating control of the level of assimilation of knowledge of the program material of the corresponding part of the course. Content module 1 (СM1) includes topics 1 - 3, content module 2 (СM2) - topics 4 - 7.

Assessment methods and criteria
The control of the student's knowledge is carried out according to the modular rating system. The total number of student points is formed by the semester points obtained from all topics of the two content modules (points obtained during the blitz survey; points obtained for the completion of essays; points obtained during the module control (for the completion of test tasks), as well as points, received during the final control (exam).
Assessment of students' knowledge success is carried out in two forms: semester assessment (tests, oral blitz survey, essays) and final assessment (exam).
The total number of points is 100 points (of which, the semester assessment is a maximum of 60 points; the final assessment (exam) is a maximum of 40 points).
The criteria for evaluating a student's answer are:
• complete disclosure of the issue;
• the logic of presentation;
• use of basic and additional literature;
• analytical reasoning, the ability to draw conclusions.
