Learning outcomes
As a result of studying the course, students should learn the main methods of research and reconstruction of the natural and climatic conditions of ancient human habitation, take into account the assessment of the main trends, dynamics and changes of the natural environment in anthropogenic. Analyze the sources and methods of researching archaeological objects, acquire skills in working with specialized scientific literature.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
- before starting the study of the discipline, students should know the main chronological events in the history of mankind based on archaeological sources; the main cultural and chronological stages of pre-written history and methods and approaches in the process of conducting archaeological research. - to be able to collect and interpret information related to the research of archaeological sources; apply professional terminology and the categorical apparatus of archaeology. - possess the skills of scientific research and analyze archaeological sources; critical attitude and forecasting of historical events and phenomena based on previous experience of studying archaeological sources. - the specificity of the program requires the use of foreign language sources.
Course content
The total volume is 120 hours, including: Lectures - 10 hours. Seminars - 4 hours. Independent work - 106 hours.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student evaluation forms: Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level evaluation of the learned material, in particular, the evaluation of theoretical training - learning outcomes (knowledge 1.1 - 1.4), which is 40% of the total assessment and assessment of practical training - learning outcomes (skills 2.1-2.5); (communication 3.1-3.3); (autonomy and responsibility 4.1-4.2), which is 60% of the total grade. The semester number of points is formed by the points received by the student in the process of learning the material from the entire educational course. The overall grade for the semester consists of points received for classroom work (oral presentations, additions, and participation in discussions at seminars) and for independent work (work with texts, research of values, writing the text of recommendations). Final assessment - test.
