Course content
The ancient history of Ukraine covers the period from the appearance of the oldest people on its territory about 1 million years ago to the middle of 1 thousand AD, when the Slavs appeared on the historical scene. According to historical periodization, the ancient history of Ukraine coincides with the age of primitiveness, and only at the end of this period, centers of ancient civilization appear in the Northern Black Sea region. In the early Middle Ages (U-X centuries), prerequisites were born on the territory of Ukraine and the early state of the Eastern Slavs - Rus' was formed. The age of Kievan Rus and the Galicia-Volyn Principality (XI - XIV centuries) belongs to the developed Middle Ages. The late Middle Ages were marked by the entry of Ukrainian lands into the political and cultural space of the Polish Crown and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania (XIV - XV - beginning of the XVI century).
