Learning outcomes
Tasks of studying the discipline are aimed at forming the following competencies in students: to assess the nature and character of social processes and phenomena, and to show understanding of the boundaries and mechanisms of their legal regulation; analyze and evaluate the practice of applying certain legal institutions in the area of information law; to determine the current practical or research issues of contractual regulation of relations in the IT area, to plan and carry out research to solve it, to choose relevant methodologies and sources; to take a productive part in the implementation of theoretical and applied research in the area of information law.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. To know the concepts, types and basic requirements of the norms of civil law to the contracts made in the course of information activities; types of essential terms of the most common types of contracts made and performed in the implementation of information activities; features of application of exemplary and standard forms of contracts on the example of information activities. 2. Be able to determine the range of information relations in which contractual regulatory instruments can be used; draft the main types of contracts used in information activities; identify and develop a methodology for preventing risks in the implementation of contractual obligations in the information area. 3. Possess basic skills of drafting written proposals for making contracts in the information area; application of standard and exemplary forms of agreements in information legal relations; formulation of essential, ordinary and accidental terms of contracts.
Course content
The discipline "Contracts in IT Area" is part of the cycle of professional training of specialists at educational qualification level "Master" in "Law" at the Education and Research Law School of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and aims to study the following provisions: 1) the legal nature, purpose and features of contracts in information activities; 2) types of contracts used in information activities and their characteristics; 3) features of the conclusion, change and performance of contractual obligations; 4) ensuring contractual obligations in information activities and forming a model of protection of the rights of the parties to information and contractual relations. New knowledge will be gained on the system of legal and technical requirements of Ukrainian legislation to assess the legality of actions of the parties to contractual obligations, determine the specifics of out-of-court settlement of contractual disputes and consideration of contractual disputes.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The study of the discipline includes lectures and practical classes; express survey/testing/essay (abstract) on the proposed topic; module test work; self-study in preparation for seminars; credit (exam).
Assessment methods and criteria
Types of ongoing performance evaluation can include: express survey, report, scientific work, multiple testing (from the set of judgments to choose the right ones), case solving (tasks), module test (final test). Things to be assessed in the process of ongoing performance evaluation at the seminars are: the level of knowledge demonstrated by the student during seminars, the level of activity in discussing the issues of the seminar, regular work in the classroom, self-study and individual assignments results. The discipline is taught for one semester. 10 days before the beginning of the session, the teacher who runs the seminars no longer accepts missing assignments. Students who have not scored the minimum threshold level of assessment are given a final test.
