Learning outcomes
Determine the conceptual principles of labor protection management, current theoretical and practical aspects of expertise in the field of labor protection, taking into account international standards and current trends in the field of labor regulation. Сonsider the legal status of insurance experts in labor protection, bodies and organizations in the field of labor protection, prevention of accidents at work and occupational diseases. Describe the features of the audit and examination of labor protection. Analyze and critically comprehend the activities, measures and tools used by insurance experts in order to create an effective occupational safety management system. Define the algorithm for investigating accidents, occupational diseases and accidents at work.
Form of study
Prerequisites and co-requisites
Know the conceptual approaches to understanding the system of labor protection, compulsory state social insurance, measures for the management of labor protection at the enterprise, institution, organization.
Be able to analyze the relevant employment and social security relations; independently generalize and study scientific literature; draw own reasonable conclusions based on a study of legislation and conceptual provisions of the doctrine.
Possess the skills to critically analyze the provisions of the law.
Course content
Legal bases for ensuring safe and healthy working conditions: international standards and national legislation. Legal status of insurance experts on labor protection. Requirements for expert organizations that perform examination of the state of labor protection and safety of industrial production. Legal and organizational principles of the insurance experts work in labor protection, prevention of accidents at work and occupational diseases. Labor protection service and the commission on labor protection of the employer: the order of creation, powers and tasks. Audit and examination of the state of labor protection. Legal regulation of the investigation of accidents, occupational diseases and accidents at work. Issues of legal regulation of job certification. Legal bases of training and testing on occupational safety. Issues of legal regulation of the system of preventive measures in the field of labor protection and creation of a comfortable working environment.

Assessment methods and criteria
The maximum final grade for this course is 100 points. A student can receive a maximum of 60 points in the final test (credit), to which the points obtained during seminars are added. To obtain an overall positive grade in the discipline, the grade for the final test cannot be less than 36 points. If the student scored less than 36 points, the latter are not added to the semester grade (regardless of the number of points obtained during the semester), and the information in the “exam scores” column is “0”, respectively, only the number of points obtained during the semester is transferred to the “resulting grade” column. If the number of points received by the student during the semester is more than 40 points, in fact, only 40 points are credited.
