Learning outcomes
Students’ achievement of such competencies, skills and abilities as: to know research and legal approaches to terminology, systems of sources in the field of the environmental and legal culture and education, international cooperation; to know the system of state regulation and management in the field of the environmental and legal culture and education, their competence, the functions of the state regulation and management; to know the basics of the environmental and legal culture and education in the field of the nature management (regarding the humane treatment of animals, rational water use, etc.), the environmental protection (for tourism, nature reserves, etc.), environmental safety (development of "green" technologies, the prevention of negative climate change, etc.).

Prerequisites and co-requisites
To know the categorical apparatus of environmental law, theory of law, constitutional, administrative, economic, criminal, civil, in particular: the subject and method of legal regulation, the relationship of principles, methods and other means of the legal regulation, the powers of public authorities, etc.; provisions of the Constitution of Ukraine, international acts, laws of Ukraine, bylaws and other sources; to be able to assess and determine the role and objectives of the institutes of environmental and legal culture, environmental and legal education, to identify patterns of the development of a scientific thought and legislation in the field of the formation and development of the environmental and legal culture and education.
Course content
The discipline is aimed at deepening theoretical knowledge, practical skills and abilities to independently solve problems in the field of the environmental and legal culture and education. The study of the discipline provides an analysis of research and legal foundations of environmental and legal culture and education in Ukraine in the field of natural resources, environmental protection, environmental safety of a human and society from the effects of hazardous factors in environmental emergencies, preventing the climate change. The effectiveness of the environmental and legal culture and education is associated with the processes of harmonization and adaptation of European and national approaches to the development of the EU environmental policy and international cooperation in the field of ecology.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures are conducted using dialectical, historical, comparative and legal research methods, scientific, regulatory and other sources, materials of practice on the environmental and legal culture and education. Interdisciplinary, environmental and legal approaches to the analysis of problems of the environmental and legal culture, consciousness, style of thinking, worldview, environmental and legal education and education in the interests of sustainable development are proposed to students. At the seminars, while solving problems, students are provided with communication, autonomy in their choice of ways to resolve disputes and other conflict situations with the help of environmental and legal tools, considering the teamwork of students.
Assessment methods and criteria
Semester forms of assessment are: reports and research papers – from 6 to 8 points; express questioning – from 2 to 4 points; a colloquium – from 2 to 4 points; problem solving – from 3 to 5 points; an individual work – from 3 to 4 points; testing (from the set of statements to choose the right ones) – from 6 to 7 points; two modal tests – from 3 to 6 points for each (total: from 6 to 12 points). The final assessment – a written exam. The maximum score that a student can get at the end of the semester is 40 points, the minimum score is 24 points. According to the results of the final form of control (an exam), a student can get a maximum of 60 points.
