Aimed at mastering by students the system of knowledge about the main categories of election law and the ability to use the conceptual apparatus of the discipline; study of types of electoral systems in the world and Ukraine, processes related to the emergence and formation, development and functioning of the institution of elections in Ukraine, gaining fundamental knowledge of the basic theory and practice of representative public authorities formation in Ukraine and abroad, skills to analyze them in historical and comparative terms; formation of skills to master the basic provisions of the Constitution of Ukraine, gaining fundamental knowledge of the basic principles of theory and practice of formation of representative bodies of public authority in Ukraine and abroad, skills to analyze them in historical and comparative terms.

Full-time form

Study such academic disciplines as:"Theory of Law and State", "History of State and Law of Ukraine", "Constitutional Law".

The study of this discipline is connected with the concept, system and sources of election law; characteristics of the nature and types of electoral systems; analysis of the constitutional and legal regulation of processes related to the formation, development and functioning of the institution of elections in Ukraine; gaining fundamental knowledge of the basic principles of constitutional theory and practice of organizing and conducting elections in Ukraine, mastering the constitutional principles and principles of forming representative bodies of state power and local government, students mastering the basic provisions of the Constitution of Ukraine in regulating democracy in Ukraine, analysis and generalization constitutional and legal science and practice of the most developed foreign countries in the field of formation of representative bodies of public authority.

Lectures and seminars - on the basis of active application of the method of Socrates and Socratic dialogue, express survey, participation in discussions, case studies. It is planned for students to write essays and analytical notes; modular tests.

Ongoing and final performance evaluation is applied. Assessment methods - the type of work / activity of the applicant, which will assess the level of achievement of learning outcomes (testing, creative tasks, individual work, independent work, etc. and the minimum threshold after which a positive assessment is credited) - and evaluation criteria are communicated to applicants before beginning of the study of the discipline by a teacher who conducts seminars. At the ongoing and final performance evaluation are subject to assessment: the level of "Knowledge", "Understanding", "Application", "Analysis" / "Synthesis" / "Evaluation", demonstrated by the applicant. The maximum total number of points the applicant can score in the ongoing performance evaluation - 40, in the exam - 60. The final score for the discipline is set on a 100-point scale (ECTS) and a national scale.
