Learning outcomes
The tasks of studying the discipline are aimed at forming the following competencies in students: to analyze social processes in the context of problems of protection of intellectual property rights and to demonstrate their own vision of ways to solve them; use a variety of information sources to fully and comprehensively establish certain circumstances in the field of intellectual property; freely use available information technologies and databases for professional activities in the field of protection of intellectual property rights.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Prerequisites for mastering the discipline: 1. Know the main aspects of the formation and development of legal institutions; general principles of legal regulation of intellectual property relations, forms and methods of protection of rights and interests in private and public law. 2. Be able to assess and determine the role and objectives of protection of intellectual property objects. 3. Have basic skills in drafting legal documents and, taking into account the specifics of the practical situation, resolve disputes that arise in order to identify, restore or challenge infringed intellectual property rights.
Course content
The discipline "Protection of Intellectual Property Rights" is part of professional training of specialists at Bachelor in Law program at the Education and Research Law School of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. The main components of the discipline are the formation of competencies aimed at demonstrating knowledge of scientific approaches, basics of methodology and research methods of protection of rights and legally protected interests in objects of intellectual property rights; ability to evaluate and analyze legal issues and practical legal situations in the field of protection of intellectual property rights.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The study of the discipline includes lectures, seminars; polls (express survey)/testing/essay (reference paper) on the proposed topic; module tests; self-study, individual assignments; credit (exam).
Assessment methods and criteria
Types of ongoing performance evaluation include: express survey, report, scientific paper, testing (multiple choice tests), case solving (tasks), module test (final test). Things to be assessed in the process of ongoing performance evaluation are: the level of knowledge demonstrated by the student during seminars, the level of activity in discussing the issues of the seminar, systematic work in the classroom, the results of self-study. The discipline is taught for one term. 10 days before the beginning of the session, the teacher conducting the seminars no longer accepts missing assignments. For students who have not achieved the minimum level of assessment, a final test is conducted.
