Learning outcomes
Know the subject, method, principles, functions, sources and system of social security law, features of organizational and legal forms of social security of the population of Ukraine, the legal procedure for providing state social benefits, legal bases of social security for vulnerable groups. Be able to apply social security legislation to resolve issues that arise in practice in the field of social security.
Form of study
Prerequisites and co-requisites
Know the main theoretical principles of the theory of law, Civil Law, Constitutional Law of Ukraine. Be able to analyze the provisions of current legislation of Ukraine. Possess the skills of critical thinking to gain experience in applying the law in practice.
Course content
Social security law as a branch of law: general provisions. Formation of social security law as a branch of law. Concepts, subject, method, principles, functions, sources and system of social security law. Legal relations in the field of social security. Subjects of social security law. Organizational and legal forms of social security of the population of Ukraine in modern conditions. Legal bases of compulsory state social insurance. Pension reform in Ukraine. Legal regulation of state social benefits and services in Ukraine.

Assessment methods and criteria
The maximum final grade for the discipline can be 100 points. The student can receive a maximum of 60 points in the credit, to which the points obtained by the student during practical classes are added. To obtain an overall positive grade in the discipline, the grade for the final test may not be less than 36 points. If the student scored less than 36 points, the latter are not added to the semester grade (regardless of the number of points obtained during the semester), the information in the “credit points” column “0” and only the number of points obtained during the semester is transferred to the column “resulting grade”.
