Learning outcomes
Know: concept, subject, system, tasks and methods of criminalistics. History of criminalistics. Know the provisions and recommendations on the application of technical forensic means, techniques and methods when working with crimes’ traces and other information about circumstances of committing criminal acts. Know the tactics of construction and testing of versions, organization and planning of investigation, tactics of organization and conduct of particular investigative (search) actions. Know the scientific advice on methods of investigating particular types of crimes. Be able to apply scientific technical means for detection, recording and removing crime traces, and their preliminary research. Be able to determine directions of crime investigation; put forward investigative versions, make plans of investigation; apply tactics of particular investigative actions. Be able to apply tactical techniques of making psychological contact with participants in the investigative actions.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Know the basic theoretical principles of forensic science; basic provisions of the theory of forensic identification; provisions and recommendationson the use of technical and forensic means; tactics of construction and testing of version, organization and planning of the investigation, tactics of organization and conduct of certain investigative (search) actions; scientific advice on methods of investigating certain types of crimes. 2. Be able to analyze and evaluate primary information that contains features of crime; apply scientific and technical means to detect, record and remove of traces of the crime and their preliminary investigation; determine directions of crime investigation; put forward investigative versions according to the specific investigative situation, make investigation plans; apply tactics for conduct of certain investigative (search) actions; use methodical recommendations during the investigation of certain types of crimes.
Course content
Academic discipline "Criminalistics" belongs to the basic, fundamental disciplines, which provide the formation of students' necessary forensic knowledge and skills in counteracting the crime. When studying the discipline "Criminalistics" the following issues are revealed a) theoretical and methodological foundations of criminalistics (concept and meaning of criminalistics, methods, forensic identification, history of criminalistics); b) forensic techniques (forensic photography and video recording, trasology, forensic weapons analysis, technical and forensic analysis of documents, forensic analysis of writing, habitology, information and reference support for crime investigation / criminal registration); c) forensic tactics (organization and planning of crime investigations, tactics of conduct of investigative (search) actions, commission of forensic examinations; d) methods of investigation of crimes

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lecture, seminar, student’s individual work.
Assessment methods and criteria
- semester forms of assessment: 1. report (speech on a given topic) - from 1 to 5 points; 2. complement to the report - from 1 to 3 points; 3. express survey - from 1 to 3 points; 4. resolving the case - from 1 to 3 points; 5. research works - from 3 to 5 points; 6. report on the topic of individual task - from 1 to 5 points; 7. testing (from the set of statements to choose the right ones) - from 1 to 3 points; 8. final test - from 1 to 5 points. The minimum score that must be obtained by the student according to the relevant forms of evaluation is one point. The maximum score that can be received by the student for the semester is 40 points. - final evaluation: • written or oral credit module test (sixth semester); • written or oral exam (seventh semester) The maximum final score is 100 points. A student can get a maximum of 60 points on the test and exam, to which points received by the student during seminars are added
