Learning outcomes
Students' achievement of such competencies, skills and abilities as: ability to use a wide range of lexical units of relevant branches of law in communication; speaking and listening skills aimed at expressing and understanding information depending on communicative intentions and situation (presentation, negotiations, debates, etc.); skills of reasoned written speech; skills of achieving semantic equivalence in the transfer of professional information from English into Ukrainian and vice versa.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Understands the main content of clear normative speech, including stories on familiar topics that are regularly encountered in everyday life and learning. Reads with a satisfactory level of understanding texts that set out the facts concerning his / her area of interest and learning. Describes one of the many subjects of his / her interests quite freely, arranging his / her description in a linear sequence. He/she writes coherent texts on a variety of familiar topics within his area of interest, linking a number of individual elements in a linear sequence.
Course content
The discipline acquaints students with the peculiarities of the legal systems of English-speaking countries, the peculiarities of legal writing in English, legal professions and systems of legal education in English-speaking countries. The student's ability to use English as effectively as possible in such areas of law as: Contract Law, Tort Law, Criminal Law, Company Law, Commercial Law, Intellectual Property Law, Real Property Law, International Law and Comparative Law. Considerable attention is paid to the peculiarities of legal English, in particular, the use of legal terms, Latin words, inherent in the legal speech of grammatical structures.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The Direct Method -teaching is done entirely in the target language. The learner is not allowed to use his or her mother tongue. Grammar rules are avoided and there is emphasis on good pronunciation.Audio-lingual - learning a language means acquiring habits. There is much practice of dialogues of every situations. New language is first heard and extensively drilled before being seen in its written form. Suggestopedia - theory underlying this method is that a language can be acquired only when the learner is receptive and has no mental blocks. By various methods it is suggested to the student that the language is easy and the mental blocks to learning are removed. Communicative language teaching (CLT) - The focus of this method is to enable the learner to communicate effectively and appropriately in the various situations she would be likely to find herself in. Assessment methods and criteria
Types of current control are selected by the teacher who conducts practical classes in accordance with this program. The teacher, who conducts seminars, sets the number of points scored from the current control and enters them in the relevant documents of student performance. If a student is absent from a seminar for good reasons, he / she may complete the missed lesson outside the classroom within 7 days after the missed lesson during the teacher's consultations. Practice is carried out by oral examination or other type of task set by the teacher. Points are not awarded for missed classes. At the end of the semester, missed classes are not completed. Points are not awarded for missed classes.
