11. Apply religious knowledge and methods of scientific study of religion for practical solutions to modern socio-cultural problems (ensuring human rights to freedom of religion, interreligious relations, interreligious dialogue, state-church relations, believers and non-believers, religious education, medical and environmental problems, etc.).
13. Analyze religious texts using knowledge of one of the ancient languages.
15. Have the skills to participate in scientific and/or applied research in the field of religious studies

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Before starting this course, students should know the disciplinary division of religious studies, the main religious concepts, their essence; basic concepts of the study of religion; the essence and significance of religion in the spiritual and cultural life of society; sociology
To be able to justify one's own worldview regarding the importance of religion in human life; to analyze the activity of religious organizations and their influence on culture and development of society; apply theoretical knowledge when solving professional tasks.
Possess elementary skills of scientific research and information management; critical attitude and forecasting regarding religious, political,
economic events and phenomena; use of foreign language professional informative sources.
Course content
The discipline belongs to the compulsory academic disciplines and is taught in the III semester of the bachelor's degree program. The educational discipline introduces students to the sociology of religion and the psychology of religion as a branch of religious studies.
The object, subject, methods and principles of studying the course are considered. The history of the formation of the sociology of religion as an independent discipline is studied. Tasks, theoretical foundations, methodologies, main directions and problems of modern research are clarified.
Modern religious processes in society are considered consistently.
