PRN 5. To know and apply in professional activity the basic concepts, theories and methods of religious studies. PRN 6. Characterize the main stages of the history of world religions, features of the historical typology of religious ideas. PRN 7. Collect, analyze, systematize and interpret facts related to the development of religions and denominations, use them to solve complex problems tasks in specialized areas of professional activity. PRN 9. Use information technologies to identify modern trends in the coexistence of religions and confessions in the conditions of globalization and intercultural dialogue.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Before starting this course, students should know the reasons for the schism of 1054, dogmatic features of the Orthodox and Catholic churches, the role and importance of religion in society, the main historical stages of the development of Christianity until the beginning of the 16th century. 2. To be able to justify one's own position regarding the reasons for the schism of 1054, to analyze the activities of religious organizations and their influence on culture and the development of society; apply theoretical knowledge when solving professional tasks. 3. Possess elementary skills of scientific research and information management; critical attitude and forecasting regarding religious, political, economic events and phenomena; use of foreign language professional informative sources.
Course content
The discipline "Protestantism and Neo-Christianity" introduces students to the main causes of the religious reformation in Europe, the features of the counter-reformation as a religious and church movement. Peculiarities of creed and cult of early and late Protestantism, Protestantism are clarified trends emerging after the 19th century, neo-Christian movements. Contemporary trends of Protestant and neo-Christian trends in the world are considered. The activities of Protestant churches in Ukraine are analyzed in detail, highlighting the general features, the specifics of responding to socio-political challenges in society, the processes of virtualization and mediatization of all spheres of human life, including religious ones. The process of birth and development, the specifics of the creed, ritual practices and the spread of neo-Christian organizations are studied.
