Learning outcomes
5.To collect, organize and analyze information on cultural phenomena, events, historical and cultural processes. 7. To understand the factors of cultural dynamics, the principles of periodization of cultural processes, their specific features and characteristics. 8. To interpret cultural sources (material, printed, visual, artistic) using special literature and certain methods, tо reasonably present conclusions regarding their content. 14. To conduct a public discussion and maintain a dialogue on Ukrainian culture with professionals and non-specialists.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Before studying the discipline, students should know the main stages of the development of Slavic cultures, the functional features of culture in the global world.
2.Be able to collect and interpret information on the phenomena and phenomena of ethno-cultural communities, analyze historical, worldview, spiritual, artistic and aesthetic features of the cultural creation of Slavic communities; apply basic terms, categories and classifications of history and theory of culture in relation to phenomena and processes; identify current trends in cultural processes, predict the prospects for their development, taking into account the peculiarities of the course of national, political and cultural processes in the context of Ukraine's European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
3.Possess the skills of scientific research, information management; critical understanding and forecasting in relation to cultural events and artistic phenomena.
Course content
Part 1 Historical and cultural process as a process of ethno and nation-building The concept of cultural discourse. The history of the formation of the pre-Slavic and Slavic world. Slavic studies. Mythological representations of the ancient Slavs. Statehood and Christianization. Cultural impulses of the Middle Ages. Early Middle Ages: sociocultural processes Part 2 The key role of culture in the formation of values, their translation and influence on individual/mass consciousness, intergenerational and interethnic communication. National and cultural identity. Culture of the Middle Ages: Gothic, Romanesque style, Byzantinism. Renaissance: humanistic and reformation ideas. Baroque era: Slavic cultures in a European context. Ukrainian national culture. Formation of modern East and Central European cultures in the 19th century Socio-cultural and artistic progress of the Slavic world in the 20th-21st centuries International cultural communication in the European space: Ukrainian experience

The total number of points in the discipline (maximum 100 points) is determined as the sum of points for systematic work during the semester, taking into account the final control work. The test is based on the results of the student's work throughout the semester and does not provide for additional assessment measures.
Thus, the final assessment in the discipline (minimum 60, maximum 100 points) consists of the sum of the number of points for the semester work (minimum 48, maximum 80 points) and the final control work (minimum 12, maximum 20 points).
