Learning outcomes
1. Understand the subject area, ethical and legal principles of professional activity.
8. Be able to use the basic categorical, conceptual, analytical and research apparatus of modern political science.
12. To be able to analyze the interaction of political actors and institutions, power and governance, political systems and regimes, political behavior in different contexts of their functioning.
14. Apply theories and methods of applied political science, political communications, special political science disciplines in professional activities.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. To know the structure and functions of the political system of society, its main institutions (the state, political parties, public organizations, local governments, mass media), the laws of functioning of the system as a whole and its institutions.
2. Based on knowledge of the political system of society, its institutions, patterns of their functioning, be able to navigate political processes, political life of specific countries.
3. Possess basic skills of scientific research and information management; critical attitude and forecasting of political events and phenomena; use of foreign language professional political information sources.

1. The right to vote as an important principle of a democratic society.
2. The genesis of elections as an institution of direct democracy.
3. The role of elections in the political system.
4. The main types of modern electoral systems.
5. The essence and classification of electoral systems.
6. Majoritarian electoral systems.
7. Proportional electoral systems.
8. Mixed and other types of electoral systems.
9. The relationship between the electoral and party systems.
10. The problem of the effectiveness of electoral systems.
11. The electoral process.
12. Electoral systems of foreign countries.
13.Electoral systems of foreign countries. Majoritarian systems.
14.Electoral systems of foreign countries. Proportional systems.
15. Electoral systems of foreign countries. Mixed systems.
16. The electoral system of modern Ukraine.

Assessment methods and criteria
The control of knowledge is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the material learned, in particular, the assessment of theoretical training - learning outcomes (knowledge 1.1 - 1.6), which is 40% of the total grade and the assessment of practical training - learning outcomes (skills 2.1-2.3); (communication - 3.1-3.3); (autonomy and responsibility 4.1-4.3), which is 60% of the total grade.
