Learning outcomes
Understand the subject area, ethical and legal principles of professional activity. 9. To be able to apply political science thinking to solve theoretical and practical problems in the political sphere on the basis of mastering classical and modern political thought. 12. To be able to analyze the interaction of political actors and institutions, power and governance, political systems and regimes, political behavior in different contexts of their functioning. 14. Apply theories and methods of applied political science, political communications, special political science disciplines in professional activities.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Prior to studying this course, students should have a system of scientific knowledge and ideas about the political sphere of public life and its main institutions (state, political parties, public organizations, local governments). Based on knowledge of the political system of society, its institutions, and patterns of of their functioning, to navigate the political processes of foreign countries and Ukraine. Possess: basic skills of scientific research and information management; critical attitude and forecasting of political events and phenomena.
Course content
Party Science as a Science and an Academic Discipline. Genesis of political parties and their legitimization. Social and political thought on the theory of political parties and their legal institutionalization. The emergence of political parties in Ukraine and the peculiarities of their legitimization. Political parties in modern Ukraine and their institutionalization. Party as a political institution of society. Discussion of the Law of Ukraine “On Political Parties in Ukraine” (as amended on August 01, 2021). Party ideology and organizational structure in the theory, policy and practice of political parties Party ideology is a basic feature of a political party. Party ideology in the activities of political parties and its political and legal regulation. Organizational structure is a basic feature of political parties. Political and legal regulation of organizational activities of political parties. Legal basis for the establishment and operation of political parties in Ukraine (Law of Ukraine “On Political Parties in Ukraine”. Electoral activities of political parties. Parliamentary activities of political parties. Interaction of political parties with state institutions of the political system and civil society institutions. Financial support for the activities of political parties.

Assessment methods and criteria
The control of knowledge is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the material learned, in particular, the assessment of theoretical training - learning outcomes (knowledge 1.1 - 1.5), which is 40% of the total grade and the assessment of practical training - learning outcomes (skills 2.1-2.4); (communication 3.1-3.2); (autonomy and responsibility 4.1), which is 60% of the total grade.
