Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. The student must know basic information about the history of the general development of philosophical thought. Basic knowledge of the history of the development of individual philosophical traditions. Knowledge of various approaches to solving basic philosophical problems. Skills of comparative analysis of different philosophical systems within one historical and philosophical period.
2. To be able to analyze the material and independently carry out historical and philosophical work on processing texts. Collect and interpret historical and philosophical information. Possess the terminological and categorical apparatus of philosophical research.
3. Possess elementary skills of scientific research and information management; critical attitude and forecasting regarding philosophical, political, economic, cultural and artistic events and phenomena; the use of foreign-language specialized historical-philosophical and political informative sources.
Course content
The goal of the discipline is to ensure a stable system of students' knowledge with historical-philosophical aspects of the origin and development of philosophical thought. The formation of students of basic knowledge about the development of foreign philosophy, as well as a conceptual vision and understanding of the essence of those philosophical systems that were developed in the history of philosophy. Making students have a complete conceptual picture of the understanding of the history of philosophy and its role in the development of the philosophical worldview and the general cultural progress of mankind. The subject, tasks, theoretical foundations, methodologies, main directions and historical-philosophical issues are defined of research.

Lectures, seminars, independent work.
Assessment methods and criteria
At seminar classes (oral reports, additions and participation in discussions at seminars), the level of knowledge and the completeness of the disclosure of the issue in oral reports are subject to assessment; activity in discussing issues and argumentation of one's own position in discussions; use of additional sources when preparing a report; the ability to carry out a critical analysis of ideas and statements presented for discussion. The criteria for evaluating independent work (presentation of independent research, eview of sources with analytical commentary) are the completeness of the disclosure of the problem; integrity, systematicity, logical sequence, ability to formulate conclusions; the presence of an independent, scientifically based commentary (with reference to the main and additional literature for the course), the formulation of an opinion using professional terminology, compliance with the deadlines set for the performance of independent works
