Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Before starting the course, students should know the main characteristics of the world's religious traditions; historical features of religious genesis.
2. To be able to use information and communication technologies; search, process and analyze information from various sources; collect and interpret information on cultural phenomena and events; to analyze the essence, properties and other systemic characteristics of the phenomenon of religion using special methods of religious studies; apply an interdisciplinary approach to the study of religious phenomena.
3. Possess elementary skills of scientific research and information management; the ability to search, process and analyze information from various sources; the ability to use information and communication technologies.
Course content
The discipline "Religion of ancient civilizations and national religions" introduces students to the main characteristics of national religions and their features
doctrinal provisions and cult practice. The educational discipline introduces students to the main religious systems of ancient civilizations, which are a component of spiritual culture. The main conceptual and categorical framework is determined, which serves as a methodological basis for these religious traditions. The sources, historical genesis of religions of ancient civilizations, their connection and essential characteristics are clarified, attention is focused on their features, on their reminiscences in later religious traditions and correlation in today's religious space. The subject, tasks, and theoretical foundations of the methodology of confessional religion are defined. The main features of the differentiation of early national and national religions of the world are clarified.
Historical forms and types of national religions are considered. The relationship between the content of religious teaching and the features of religious practice is explained.
