Learning outcomes
PLO 2. Process information effectively: collect relevant information from a variety of sources, including professional literature and electronic databases, critically analyse and interpret it, organize, classify and systematize it. PLO 11. Know the principles, technologies and techniques necessary to produce oral and written texts of different genres and styles in Ukrainian, Spanish and English. PLO 22. Use the knowledge of history and culture of Ukraine and Spanish- and English-speaking countries for ensuring successful communication and adequate translation. PLO 23. Identify and analyse the specific features of a communicative situation in translation and impact on translation decisions. PLO 28.1 Demonstrate the ability to implement communicative interlingual mediation on the basis of the knowledge of linguistic and cultural specifics.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Knowledge of Spanish at the B1+/B2 level.
2. Be able to work with sources of background information, lexicographic sources in two languages.
3. Possess basic skills of written and oral translation from Spanish into Ukrainian.
Course content
The aim of the course is to develop the skills of translation in the field of tourism for students learning Spanish as a first foreign language. It is part of the student's free choice block in the specialization "Translation in Intercultural Communication". The course consists of two parts: 1) lectures that introduce the situations of translation in tourism, the typology of modern tourist texts and the main strategies for solving the most common difficulties in their translation; the language of instruction is Spanish; 2) the practical part of the course is designed to develop skills in translation and interpretation of tourism texts, to overcome specific translation difficulties caused by the field or conditions of interlingual communication; the languages of teaching, learning and assessment are Spanish and Ukrainian.

Assessment methods and criteria
During the semester, the assessment is carried out in accordance with the types of work and the form of control described in clause 7.1 of the programe of the discipline: written assignments (max. 2.5 - min. 1.5), oral response (max. 2 - min. 1.2), written part of the group project (max. 10 - min. 6), oral part of the group project (max. 5 - min. 3), control translation (max. 20 - min. 12). For a complete list of types of work and criteria for their evaluation, see paragraph 7 of the Program of the discipline. The grade is based on the results of the student's work throughout the semester and does not include additional assessment measures. Students who do not score the minimum positive number of points - 60 - receive a "fail". To pass the credit test, such students must complete the written assignments for which they have a debt (the total amount of completed assignments must be at least 60% of the amount of assignments planned for the semester) and/or write a test translation.
