Course content
Selective theoretical and practical discipline. The main focus is on developing translation competence in the field of law (working languages: German, Ukrainian), which allows students to independently and consciously organize a successful translation process and create high-quality translation products. Within the course, students familiarize themselves with the theoretical foundations of legal translation, its types, peculiarities, and associated translation problems, translation methods, etc., and gain a general overview of the legal systems of Germany and Ukraine. During practical sessions, students work with legal (parallel) texts, study terminology in the working language pair, and undertake translation projects related to legal topics (with a focus on international economic contracts).
