Learning outcomes
PLO 2. To demonstrate an adequate level of national and foreign language mastery to perform written and spoken communication, namely in the situations of professional and scientific communication; to present the results of their studies in the national and foreign language. PLO 3. To implement the modern methods and techniques, namely informational, in order to perform a successful and effective professional activity and guarantee the quality of research in a specific philological field. Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastering of the courses: Comparative Stylistics of the English and Ukrainian Languages, General Translation Theory, Professional and Corporate Ethics, Translation Projects Management, Communicative Strategies of Literary Language, Workshop on Literary Translation, Strategies and Tactics of Literary Translation, Basics of Film Translation (Subtitling and Dubbing); 2. Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of contemporary translation studies and the principles of translation projects management; 3. Proficiency in the state language (C2) and English ( C1), skills in the professional pre-translational analysis of the source text and comparative analysis of the source and target texts, skills in translation of audiovisual, media, literary, literary and publicist, publicist, publicist and academic, and popular scientific writing.
Course content
Translation Practical Training (English Language) is the first part of the mandatory component of the educational program "Literary translation from the English language, literary editing and management of translation projects" and is a compulsory component of the master's academic training. Translation training for students in the 2nd year of study is held during the IV semester for 5 weeks. Curriculum schedules determine the specific dates of the training. Translation practice is designed to engage students in the real-life production process of translation, to train them to apply in practice the competencies acquired during studying to solve professional problems ("translation in action": communication with the client of the translation project, communication with colleagues, analysis of the commission, allocation of resources, source text analysis, translation strategy defining, execution of translation, editing and revision, and completion of the project, etc.).

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The following educational activities are planned: group advisory and educational meetings, individual consultations, and group and independent work. In particular, the practical training program provides for the preparation of interim oral reports; cooperation with classmates in the roles of translators and editors; preparation of a written report and report materials (including pre-translation analysis and own translations after self-editing and commentaries on translation decisions; oral reports and presentation of results.
Assessment methods and criteria
During the practical training period the following activities are subject to evaluation: interim oral reports at group advisory and educational meetings (15 points); timeliness of submission and quality of interim materials (15 points); pre-translational analysis (15 points); translation (25 points); translation commentary (20 points). The final assessment is carried out in the form of a differential assessment. The differential assessment is conducted in English, and involves the defence of a report on the the practical training results, which consists of two parts: a speech/presentation, valued at a maximum of 15 points and answers to the questions of the manager(s) of the practice, valued at a maximum of 5 points. The final grade is formed by the points received during the practical training and the points received at the defence: 80 points (80%) - control during the practical training and 20 points (20%) - defence.
