Learning outcomes
Know the basic terminology of the academic discipline. Know the fields of discourse. Know the meaning of the concepts "discourse", "addressee", "addressee", "illocution", "manipulative tactics". To know the lexical features of modern Indonesian political discourse. To be able to use the appropriate terminology, to demonstrate mastery of the necessary theoretical basis of the academic discipline. Be able to apply lexical, grammatical and stylistic transformations during translation; fill in the gaps in the text. Have discussion skills when discussing Indonesian language discourse topics. Act socially responsibly and consciously, have the skills to work autonomously and in a team.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1) successful mastery of the disciplines "Indonesian Language", "Introduction to Oriental Philology", "Translation Practice", "Theory and Practice of Translation", "Translation Studies", "Linguistic Studies", "Stylistics", etc.; 2) knowledge of the theoretical foundations of linguistics and cultural studies; 3) mastery of the practice of translating Indonesian-language text, skills of stylistic text analysis.
Course content
Presentation of theoretical material regarding the concept of discourse, its types, the place of political discourse in the system of discourses, lexical, grammatical and stylistic features of modern political discourse; analysis of factual material - speeches of Indonesian politicians, Indonesian-language press conferences and briefings with the participation of officials, interviews with Indonesian political figures. Consideration of the following main issues: 1) the concept of discourse, its diversity; 2) political discourse as an actual object of linguistic research; review of theoretical assets of political discourse research; 3) linguistic and stylistic analysis of Indonesian-language political texts; 4) analysis of the suggestive and manipulative influence of political speeches.
