Theoretical material is presented regarding the features of lexical and grammatical constructions, theoretical features and characteristics of the Indonesian language. The following main issues are considered: 1) adequate understanding of specific lexical and grammatical constructions in the Indonesian language; 2) peculiarities of the use of lexical and grammatical constructions in the modern Indonesian language. The educational discipline "Indonesian language for professional communication" is one of the components of comprehensive training in the specialty "philology (Oriental languages ​​and literatures (including translation))" under the program "Oriental language (Indonesian) and literature, Western European language and translation"
