Learning outcomes
ELO 9. Describe the theoretical foundations (concepts, categories, principles, basic concepts, etc.) and applied aspects of the Russian language and literature. PLO 13. Explain the existence of specific philological issues and one's own point of view on them and its justification to both specialists and the general public, including students, in an accessible and reasoned manner. PLO 21 c. Organise the process of teaching Russian in higher education institutions, taking into account psychological and pedagogical principles and the basics of appropriate teaching methods, in particular, develop and improve teaching and learning materials for Russian as a foreign language courses, conduct classes, use modern innovative teaching methods and technologies, provide students with advice and recommendations on how to improve learning outcomes, select assessment tools, and develop and apply assessment criteria.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
The student must have theoretical knowledge of the main levels of the language (phonetics, lexicology, morphology, syntax); know the features and structural organisation of each level, the laws of language functioning. The student must be proficient in Russian and be able to apply theoretical knowledge in practice. The student must have the skills to analyse theoretical and educational material.
Course content
The discipline develops the professional competence of future language teachers: it forms an idea of the specifics of the work of a language teacher in higher education, introduces the forms, methods and techniques of organising the educational process in philological educational institutions, the basic methods and techniques of working with language teaching material, forms of controlling the learning of this material and forms of independent work with language teaching material.

Lectures, practical classes, consultations, independent work. Teaching methods: explanatory and illustrative, consciously practical (explanation, observation); educational discussion
Assessment methods and criteria
Oral questioning, module test, exam (oral and written). Assessment of student knowledge and skills is carried out systematically, in accordance with the thematic plan of classes. See the work programme of the discipline for assessment criteria for each type of assignment.
