Learning outcomes
PLO 13. To explain the essence of specific linguistic issues and one’s own point of view and its justification to the experts and laypeople in an accessible and argumentative manner, in particular to individuals who are studying. PLO 14. To create, analyze, and edit texts of various genres and styles. PLO 21. To translate (orally and in writing) texts of different genres and styles from Ukrainian into the native language and vice versa (according to the selective block "Practical translation for those who study Ukrainian as a foreign language").

Prerequisites and co-requisites
The ability to use the Ukrainian language fluently, flexibly and effectively in oral and written form, in various genre-stylistic varieties and registers of communication and successful completion of 1-2 semester courses (practical course of the Ukrainian language: professional level, linguistic and stylistic analysis of a literary text, morphology and syntax of the Ukrainian language in the functional aspect).
Course content
The aim of the course is to form and develop professional skills and abilities in translation editing. The course is aimed at familiarizing students with the basic principles and methods of translation editing as an important stage of translation and editorial work. The course offers a study of the theoretical foundations of translation text editing, as well as practical tasks for the formation and development of the skills necessary for editing such a text. The course teaches you how to recognize errors and inaccuracies, edit them, and bring the translation to the level of adequate completeness.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Forms of study: lectures, practical classes, independent work. Teaching methods: problem-based teaching (explanation, discussion, analysis); independent work with scientific and reference literature, collective analysis of translation quality, collective text editing.
Assessment methods and criteria
Current tests, oral responses, participation in discussions, translation/interpretation, analysis of translation/interpretation results and their editing, module tests, and an exam. See the course program for assessment criteria for each type of assignment.
