Form of study
Prerequisites and co-requisites
Students should know the essence of language as a social phenomenon, its connection with the thinking, culture and social development of the people; definition of Slavic studies; to be able to analyze modern problems of the development of society, the history of inter-Slavic relations; to have elementary skills of searching, accumulating, analyzing and synthesizing information; use of foreign language professional informative sources.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to acquaint students with the stages of formation of Ukrainian university Slavic studies in the 19th century, the development of Slavic studies in the 20th century. - 20s of the XXI century. as a complex scientific humanitarian discipline about the Slavs, their history, language, folklore, literature, material and spiritual culture, to present the problems of the works of prominent representatives of the national Slavic studies. The discipline is taught in the 3rd semester and is worth 5 ECTS credits. The course includes 2 content modules: Module 1 "University Slavic studies of the XIX-XX centuries", Module 2: "Academic Slavic studies of the XX century. - the first quarter of the 21st century." The form of the final semester control is credit.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures and practical classes, guidance of independent work and monitoring of its implementation, individual consultations, assessment.
Assessment methods and criteria
Training takes place in the form of lectures, practical classes, and independent work. During the semester, after the lectures on the relevant topics, seminar classes are held, at which evaluation is carried out according to the types of work and forms of control: answers in the seminar class (max. 8, min. 1), additions in the seminar class, participation in the discussion (max. 4, min. 1), report-analysis of scientific literature (max. 8, min. 2), writing and defending an abstract (max. 15, min. 4), presentation (max. 15, min. 8), final test or test (max. 20, min. 14). The semester final grade is formed by the points obtained by the student during the semester and the points obtained during the assessment. The maximum distribution is carried out according to the following algorithm: 70 points - semester control, 30 points - credit. The minimum positive number of points to receive credit is 60 points.
