Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful completion of the "History of foreign literature of the 20th century" courses. (EL Bachelor program). Knowledge of the basics of the political history of the USA and Great Britain of the 20th century. - beginning 21st century (course "Linguistic and Regional Studies"; Bachelor's program).
2. Basic knowledge of modern methods of literary analysis - sociocultural, archetypal, feminist and postcolonial criticism; knowledge of the basics of the postmodern theory of creativity, as well as the skills of critical reception of intermedial elements in the modern literature of English-speaking countries.
Course content
The course is a component of the block of subjects of free choice for master's students, specialization "Hermeneutics and Narratology". The course consists of lectures (16 hours) and seminar classes (14 hours), ending with a test. The study of the phenomenon of multiculturalism on the example of American and British literature is an important resource for the formation in the minds of modern philologists of the principles of tolerance towards the speakers of other cultures, assimilation of the principles of building a cultural dialogue with representatives of different ethnic and racial communities
