PLO 2. Analyze textual and visual sources of information on cultural phenomena and processes, verify information in accordance with professional tasks. PLO 12. Collect, analyze and evaluate empirical facts and interpret them in accordance with modern theoretical concepts of the relevant field of cultural studies. PLO 13. Plan and carry out scientific and applied research in the field of cultural studies, generate and test hypotheses, collect evidence and argue conclusions. PLO 15.1. Carry out a comparative analysis of ethnocultural texts, using the search tools developed by world comparativistics. PLO 18.1. Review, comment, annotate, edit and create original texts (scientific, popular science, journalistic, artistic) on cultural issues.

Full-time form

Before starting this course, students should know the scientific foundations and political role of cultural anthropology as a driver of cultural diplomacy and a stabilizer of national traditional culture; to navigate the ethnic cultural traditions of the ethnic groups living in Ukraine, and the level of preservation of the Ukrainian spiritual tradition outside the borders of the state of Ukraine. To be able to formulate scientific problems and outline the ways of their solution, abstract scientific analysis, operating with various information sources; distinguish the mechanisms of ethnocultural transmission in the conditions of information technologies. To have elementary skills of modern techniques of scientific analysis of the text of ethnoculture; documentation and examination of an ethnocultural artifact.

The purpose of the discipline is to prepare students of the master's degree to carry out the collection, analysis and introduction into scientific circulation of the ethno-cultural product using the latest scientific methods, in particular methodological support of cultural scientific research practice with a gap in the position (4th semester); works in various genres of modern cultural discourse; preparation of the project (practical) part of the master's thesis. Abstract. The discipline "Applied aspects of the scientific study of ethnoculture" belongs to the list of mandatory disciplines and is taught in the 4th semester of the master's degree - in accordance with the curriculum of the cultural educational program. The academic discipline is aimed at comparative cultural studies, which are interdisciplinary, and therefore require the use of many methods and approaches. The main object of studying the academic discipline is the process of communicative actions in the realm of traditional cultural practices that are active in the modern cultural field. The educational content is structured taking into account domestic and foreign cultural experience and the latest experimental practices of the multimodal method.

The course includes the following forms of education: lectures, seminars, independent work. Throughout the semester, after lectures on relevant topics, seminar classes are held, at which evaluation is carried out according to the types of works (report at a scientific seminar, scientific (popular science) article / review / essay / screenplay, participation in a discussion, assessment). The seminar is held no later than the last lecture week, at which students present an independently prepared scientific report on one of the topical problems of modern folkloristics.

The final number of points for the discipline (maximum 100 points) is defined as the sum of points for systematic work during the semester, taking into account the final test. The credit is given based on the results of the student's work throughout the entire semester and does not include additional assessment measures. For students who scored a total of less than the critical minimum of 60 points, in order to receive credit, it is necessary to complete the missed topics in writing and submit/send by e-mail to the teacher conducting the seminar classes. Thus, the final grade for the discipline (minimum 60, maximum 100 points) consists of the sum of the number of points for the semester work (minimum 48, maximum 80 points) and the final test (minimum 12, maximum 20 points).
