Learning outcomes
PLO 5. To find optimal ways for effective interaction in the professional community and with representatives of other professional groups at various levels.
PLO 6. To use the knowledge of expressive, emotive, logical language means and speech techniques to achieve an intended pragmatic result and organize successful communication.
PLO 22. To analyze, design, and give reasons for translation decisions, decisions on the choice of translation tools, and methods of quality assurance in specialized translation.
PLO 23. To plan the process of specialized interpreting and translation accordaning to the stages of a translation project.
PLO 24.2 To apply principles of oral translation, note-taking, and oral translator’s rhetoric techniques in English.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Prior to taking this course, students should know the basic concepts of linguistics, translation studies, stylistics, and communication theory; the basic lexical, semantic, structural, and grammatical characteristics of the Spanish and Ukrainian languages; and methods of linguistic and stylistic analysis of texts.
Also, students will be able to determine the genre and style of the text to be translated; apply in practice the knowledge of translation principles; formulate thoughts in the Ukrainian literary language.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to deepen students' knowledge of theoretical and practical principles of consecutive translation from Spanish into Ukrainian, The discipline involves the formation and improvement of practical skills and abilities necessary to produce a complete and adequate consecutive translation from Spanish into Ukrainian of media, popular science and official discourse. The course is taught in the form of practical classes and independent work. The course ends with a pass/fail test at the end of the 4th semester.

Learning activities during the semester:
- Answers in practical classes (consecutive interpretation tasks);
- Preparation and presentation of individual thematic translator's glossaries;
- midterm control - translation of texts
Assessment methods and criteria
The maximum number of points during the semester is 100 points. In particular, semester assessment by forms of control:
1. Completion of consecutive translation tasks in practical classes - max. 60 points
2. Preparation and presentation of individual thematic glossaries of the interpreter - max. 20 points
Module test:
4. Interpretation - max. 10 points
5. Written translation of the spoken text - max. 10 points
