Learning outcomes
PLO 2. To demonstrate an adequate mastery of national and foreign languages to perform written and spoken communication, namely in professional and academic communication; to present the results of their studies in these national and foreign languages.
PLO 3. To apply modern methods and techniques, namely informational, to perform a successful and effective professional activity and guarantee the quality of research in a specific linguistic field.
PLO 13. To explain the essence of both specific linguistic issues and one’s point of view and its justification to experts and laypeople in an accessible and argumentative manner, particularly to individuals who are studying.
PLO 17. To plan, organize, perform and present research and / or innovative developments in a specific linguistic field.
PLO 18. To present the results of one’s research to the academic community in academic publications or presentations at conferences, round tables, seminars, etc.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
The discipline can be successfully mastered only after completing the courses "Communication Strategies," "Stylistics," and "Rhetoric," to which it is a continuation. In addition, the student should know the basics of style theory and understand semantic categories, discursive markers, connotation, cognitive metaphor, genre, architectonics and text composition, text categories, argumentation, and types of arguments.
In addition, the student should be able to apply linguistic and stylistic tools in practice and apply linguistic, discursive, and stylistic competencies in practice.
Course content
The discipline aims to form students' knowledge, skills, and practical skills in written and oral communication to understand and create texts in the academic sphere.
During study and further professional activities, the master's student often has to deal with publications, training materials, instructions, and other reference sources in Spanish, as well as to create texts of such genres as articles, abstracts, messages, reports, etc.
The course summarizes the typical features of academic Spanish-language discourse and practices the most typical types of oral and written academic speech: presentations and participation in its discussion; formulating relevant questions regarding the topic of discussion; writing an article with particular emphasis on the graphic, lexical-semantic, grammatical-syntactic, phraseological, stylistic, pragmatic, and intertextual levels.
Classes are conducted in Spanish. The course ends with a credit.

Learning activities over the semester:
- oral answers, additions, participation in seminar discussions, blitz surveys;
- individual written assignment on working out academic texts;
- a written summary of scientific research;
- oral presentation of the outline of scientific research;
- test.

Semester evaluation:
- The maximum number of points during the semester is 100 points. In particular,
- oral answers, additions, participation in discussions at seminars, blitz surveys LO 1.1-1.3, 2.1-2.2, 3.1 - max. 15 points;
individual written assignment on processing academic texts LO 1.1-1.3, 2.1-2.2, 3.1 - max. 30 points;
a written summary of scientific research LO 1.1-1.3, 2.1-2.4, 3.1-3.2, 4.1 - max. 15 points;
oral presentation of the outline of scientific research LO 1.1-1.3, 2.1-2.3, 3.1-3.2 - max. 15 points;
test LO 1.1-1.3, 2.2, 3.1 - max. 25 points.
