Learning outcomes
PLO 2. To have deep knowledge of the official (Ukrainian) and foreign languages for the written and oral communication purposes, professional and scientific communication in particular; to present research results in the official (Ukrainian) and foreign languages.
PLO 5. To find optimal ways of the effective interaction in a team of professionals and with the representatives of other professional groups on different levels.
PLO 10. To collect and systematise linguistic, literary and folklore facts, to interpret and translate texts of different styles and genres (depending on the specialisation elected).
PLO 14. To create, analyse and edit texts of different styles and genres.
PLO 21. To apply the knowledge and skills necessary to provide faithful bilateral Arabic - Ukrainian translation and interpretation in various sectors of economy and human life.

Course content
The purpose of translation practice is to form students’ practical skills in written and oral translation in real conditions, on the basis of acquired theoretical knowledge, fostering in them the desire to systematically renew and improve the acquired knowledge, creatively apply it in their practical activities. Translation practice is designed to develop in students the ability to independently make specific decisions and creatively implement them in their translation activities.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
There are three parts of translation practice:
1. Preparatory stage. Participation in the setting conference in Institute of Philology, acquaintance with the general manager of the translation practice, with the group manager; study of directive documents; drawing up an individual translation practice plan.
2. The main stage: written translation of the tasks received; abstracting and annotating special texts; consecutive oral translation from Persian into Ukrainian and from Ukrainian into Persian; compiling a glossary; preparation of a written translation according to established standards.
3. Final stage: preparation of reporting materials on translation practice; defense of the report at the final conference; submission of reporting documentation to the person responsible for translation practice for verification and evaluation.
Assessment methods and criteria
The final assessment of practice (min. 60 / max. 100 points) takes place by summing up the points received by the student for the substantive parts of the practice: 1) execution of orders, instructions and instructions of practice managers; compliance with the internal regulations of the practice base - 9/15 points; 2) actual translation – 9/15 points; 3) glossary - 9/15 points; 4) diary of completed work - 9/15 points; 5) the final part (written report of the student, feedback from the institution-practice base, defense of report materials) – 24/40 points.
