Learning outcomes
PLO 18. Use the second foreign language in oral and written form, in different genre and style varieties and registers of communication (formal, informal, neutral), to solve communicative problems in various spheres of life. PLO 19. Carry out pre-translation analysis of texts of different styles and genres. PLO 22. Collect, analyse, systematise and interpret linguistic facts, interpret, summarise, annotate and adequately translate (from the first and second foreign languages and from Ukrainian) oral and written texts of various styles and genres, except for specialised ones. PLO 33. Carry out stylistic editing of Ukrainian-language texts.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Before taking this course, students should be familiar with the main categories of translation and the general principles of translation and interpreting. 2. Be able to adequately apply basic translation techniques and concepts in the analysis of English-Ukrainian and Ukrainian-English translation; plan and evaluate their own work; use interactive and multimedia tools. 3. Possess basic skills of scientific research and information management; critical attitude to the analysed phenomena; use of foreign language professional informative sources; work with English-language texts; production of complex oral and written messages; interaction and cooperation in learning in search situations.
Course content
The discipline "Second Foreign Language and Translation in Business Communication" is a discipline of the "Translation in Intercultural Communication" elective block. Along with other disciplines of the block, it prepares students for professional translation activities in various fields of economics, business and banking. This discipline introduces students to the basic terms, phrases, idiomatic expressions, rules and peculiarities of using vocabulary and the specifics of their translation from English into Ukrainian and vice versa; forms the communicative competence of future translators in this field, necessary for communication in the field of business communication; activates students' oral communication, deepens and improves their translation skills.

Assessment methods and criteria
The discipline ends with an exam. Students who have scored a total of less than the critical-calculated minimum of 36 points are not allowed to take the exam. For students who have not reached the threshold grade level (36 points) during the semester, in order to be admitted to the exam, it is necessary to work on the missed topics in writing and submit/email them to the teacher, and pass the missed independent/control works. The semester final grade is formed by the points obtained by the student in the process of completing the specified types and forms of study and obtained at the exam. The maximum distribution is based on the following algorithm: 60 points (60%) - semester control and 40 points (40%) - exam.
