Learning outcomes
PLO 1. Communicate freely on professional issues with experts and non-experts in Ukrainian, Portuguese and English, in oral and in written form, use these languages to ensure effective cross-cultural communication. PLO 10. Know the rules of standard language and be able to apply them in practice. PLO 11. Know the principles, technologies and techniques necessary to produce oral and written texts of different genres and styles in Ukrainian, Portuguese and English. PLO 12. Analyse language units, determine their interaction, and characterize linguistic phenomena and the underlying processes. PLO 15. Carry out linguistic, literary and translation analysis of texts of various styles and genres. PLO 26. Carry out stylistic editing of texts in Ukrainian.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
To successfully study the course, students must know the norms of the Ukrainian literary language, be able to work analytically with texts, have communicative skills in modeling oral and written texts.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline: to acquaint students with the basic concepts of working with texts of different functional styles, to form skills of linguistic and stylistic analysis of the text and stylistic editing, to apply theoretical knowledge in professional practice. The discipline systematizes students' knowledge of professional interpretation of the concepts of style, text; considers modern linguistic and stylistic research methods; system of genres of functional styles of modern Ukrainian literary language. Within the discipline the principles and methods of stylistic analysis of the text, approaches to the definition of the text and its elements, the principles of stylistic editing of texts are considered.

Assessment methods and criteria
The discipline ends with an exam. During the semester, a student can score a maximum of 60 points and a minimum of 36 points, in particular: for a scientific report, a student can receive a maximum of 15 points and a minimum of 7 points; for written assignments (tests) - a maximum of 10 points and a minimum of 5 points; for independent writing of texts maximum 10 points and minimum 5 points. At the exam the student can get a minimum of 24 points, a maximum of 40 points.
