PRS 7. Understand the main problems of philology and approaches to their solution using appropriate methods and innovative approaches.
PRS 8. To know and understand the language system, the general properties of literature as an art of words, the history of the Korean language and literature, and to be able to apply this knowledge in professional activities.
PRS 13. Analyze and interpret works of Ukrainian and Korean fiction and oral folk art, determine their specificity and place in the literary process.
PRS 15. Carry out linguistic, literary and special philological analysis of texts of various styles and genres.
PRS 22. To apply knowledge about historical and literary contacts between the countries of the East and the West in professional activities.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of general literary studies. Possession of literary terminology, skills of literary analysis.
Course content
The goal of the discipline is to provide students with basic knowledge of the history of Korean literature from the earliest examples of literary works to the end of the Goryeo era (end of the 14th century). The course introduces students to the reasons for the appearance and patterns of development of the most important literary genres and directions of Korean literature from the earliest times to the kin. 14th century, their periodization, typological characteristics, connection with the literary traditions of the West, biographies of prominent literary figures.
