            PLO 1. Сommunicate freely on professional issues with experts and non-experts in Ukrainian, Spanish and English, in oral and in written form, use these languages to ensure effective cross-cultural communication. PLO 11. Know the principles, technologies and techniques necessary to produce oral and written texts of different genres and styles in Ukrainian, Spanish and English. PLO 14. Use Spanish and English in oral and written form, in different genre-stylistic varieties and registers of communication (official, unofficial, neutral), to solve communicative tasks in everyday, social, educational, professional, scientific spheres of life. PLO 21. Interpret, abstract, annotate and adequately translate (from Spanish, English and Ukrainian) oral and written texts of various styles and genres, except highly specialized ones.             Prerequisites and co-requisites
        
        
            The program is designed for students who have studied English as a second foreign language during the second-fifth semesters of study and have the appropriate level of training. The student should know basic linguistic terms; principles of analysis of linguistic material; features of semantics, and functioning of units of all levels of English; be able to apply linguistic tools in practice; possess elementary skills; selection, analysis, and interpretation of speech facts; communication on linguistic topics.
        
    
            Course content
        
        
            The purpose of the discipline is the formation of English communicative competence essential for effective intercultural communication, deepening students' practical knowledge in phonetics, vocabulary, and grammar; to acquaintance with the ways of transferring the meanings of linguistic units of the source language into the target language based on in-depth knowledge of English in all its aspects, deepening the linguistic and linguistic and cultural erudition of students. The training is based on fundamental principles of the communicative approach to foreign language learning with authentic materials and modeling of real communicative situations. It is conducted through practical classes and individual students' work. The 6th semester ends with an exam.

            Assessment methods and criteria
        
        
            During the semester, the assessment is carried out in accordance with the types of work and forms of control described in paragraph 7.1 (answer in practical classes, written tasks, individual creative work, test work). The final assessment is conducted in the form of an exam. The maximum number of points in the exam is 40 points, the minimum number of points (positive grade) that are added to the semester points is 24 points. The maximum number of points at the exam is 40 points, the minimum number of points (positive grade) that are added to the semester points is 24 points: 1. Written translation into Ukrainian of an English-language text and lexical and grammatical commentary on it - 20 points (written part); 2. Completion of a grammar task - 10 points (oral part); 3. Disclosure of an oral topic using active vocabulary - 10 points (oral part).
