Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful completion of the following courses: Introduction to Translation Studies, Practical Course in the First Foreign Language, Translation and Interpretation Practice, Genre and Stylistic Aspects of Translating Texts from the First Foreign Language, Translation Analysis of Text, Stylistics of the First Foreign Language. Possess an adequate vocabulary and knowledge of the grammar and stylistics of the first foreign language to the extent required by the programs of the relevant disciplines. Know the main theoretical provisions, specifics and problems of translation studies as a science. Be able to create oral and written texts in the state and foreign languages, apply translation transformations in practice; abstract and annotate texts on relevant topics. Be able to use the latest sources of information to search for professional vocabulary and terminology.
Course content
The aim of the discipline is to develop skills and abilities in translation for the written translation of scientific, technical, political, socio-economic, popular science, economic, banking, journalistic texts, audiovisual and oral translation from a foreign language into Ukrainian; compilation of parallel texts. Structure of translation practice. Preparatory stage: Orientation meeting, acquaintance with the general supervisor of the translation practice, the introduction of the supervisors of the language sections and study of regulatory documents. Main stage: consecutive translation or interpretation; abstracting and annotating texts; compiling a glossary; compiling parallel texts; formatting the translation in accordance with the established standards. The final stage: preparation of translation practice reports; defense of translation practice; submission of reports to the person responsible for translation practice for review and evaluation.

Orientation meetings; independent work; consultations with the head of the internship; defense of the internship.
Assessment methods and criteria
Forms of student assessment: Participation in an orientation conference, drawing up an individual plan for translation practice - 5 points. Written/interpretation of texts - 20 points. Abstracting and annotating texts - 10 points. Compiling a glossary - 20 marks. Compilation of parallel texts - 20 marks Report - 5 points. The final assessment is in the form of a practice defense: maximum number of points for the defense - 20 points; the minimum number of points to be added to the previously obtained points is 12 points (60% of the maximum number of points allocated for the defense); Students who have scored a total of less than the critical-calculated minimum of 40 points are not allowed to defend their internship. The recommended minimum for admission to the defense is 48 points.
