Prerequisites and co-requisites
Know: the basics of professional linguistic analysis; have basic knowledge of language as a special sign system, its nature and functions, genetic and structural typology of world languages; phonetic, lexical, grammatical levels of language, the system of modern Ukrainian language; know the general properties of text linguistics, the basics of proofreading and editing. Be able to: orally and in writing formulate their own thoughts and judgments based on theoretical knowledge; systematize facts and phenomena, give them an objective assessment and independently research them; independently search for and summarize information from various sources, master research methods in accordance with the professional direction; be able to apply knowledge in practical situations. Possess skills: to be able to work in a team and independently on research (creative) tasks, to demonstrate the ability to perform independent cognitive and research activities; to apply the acquired knowledge in practice
Course content
"The internship systematizes the knowledge gained by students in the theoretical courses, and contributes to the formation and development of professional competencies and skills in applying theoretical knowledge in practice. During the internship, the student demonstrates the ability to be critical and self-critical, to search, process, systematize and analyze information from various sources, to work both individually and in a team, to professionally apply in-depth knowledge of Ukrainian and English, translation and editorial skills, the ability to plan, organize, implement and evaluate projects (scientific, creative and other) in commercial, public, cultural, educational, publishing institutions, mass communication, etc.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Orientation meeting for students and internship supervisors. Familiarization with the purpose and objectives of the internship, its plan, specifics of the stages of completion, and reporting. Familiarization with the practice base. Choosing the direction of practical activity, familiarization with the specifics of work, job descriptions, scientific and reference literature. Performing the practical part of the work, cooperation with the team. Finalizing the material and conclusions. Preparation of reporting documentation. Consultations with the supervisor. Completion of an individual scientific (creative) task, which the student received from the supervisor in the form of an abstract, scientific article, dictionary, list of references, review, presentation, etc. Preparation of the final text and presentation of the report. Round table: presentation of reports and discussion. Preparation and submission of a written report on the internship to the supervisor.
Assessment methods and criteria
The final assessment in the form of a differentiated test consists of several stages. Preparation of the practice diary: a brief description of the activities of the institution (department, unit) in which the student is practicing; description of the activities (creative, practical) of the institution (department, unit) in which the student is practicing; description of the activities performed by the student during the practice (maximum 30 points). Completion of an individual scientific (creative) task that the student receives from the supervisor within the chosen specialization (maximum 40 points). Preparation of documentation (report) on the internship (maximum 10 points). Public defense of the results of the internship by the student (oral report) - maximum 20 points.
