Learning outcomes
PLO 1. Communicate freely on professional issues with experts and non-experts in Ukrainian and English in oral and written forms, use these languages to organize effective cross-cultural communication. PLO 11. Know the principles, technologies and techniques of oral and written texts of different genres and styles creation in Ukrainian and English. PLO 17. Collect, analyse, systematize and interpret language and speech facts and use them to solve complex problems and tasks in specialized fields of professional activity and / or training.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Before starting the course, students must successfully master the courses Introduction to Linguistics, Lexicology and Phraseology of the Modern Ukrainian Language, Ukrainian Folklore, History of Ukrainian Literature; to know the theoretical foundations of linguistics, the modern Ukrainian language, the basic regularities of the literary process, the specifics of folklore and mythological worldview; to possess the technique of multi-aspect analysis of advertising and PR texts; to be able to analytically comment on lingual and extra-lingual information embedded in advertising and PR texts.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to acquaint students with the basics of advertising, particularly in the political sphere, and the principles of PR technologies in psycholinguistic, sociolinguistic, and linguistic-communicative aspects. The course is aimed at forming clear ideas about the specifics and principles of creating advertising and PR texts of various types, in particular in the political sphere. While studying the discipline, students study scientific literature, consider advertising and PR texts, independently create such texts and analyze them.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Verbal, visual, interactive and practical methods of learning: lecture, practical session, independent work. Educational activities during the semester: independent work (abstract / report / presentation); oral answers in practical classes; control work.
Assessment methods and criteria
Semester assessment: The overall grade for the semester consists of points received for classroom and independent work (min. / max.): oral answer - 24 points / 40 points; defense of independent work (abstract / report / presentation) – 6 / 10 points; final test - 6 / 10 points. The maximum number of points is 60 points; minimum - 36 points. • Final assessment is conducted in the form of an exam: 40 points / 24 points. A student receives 100 points if he/she fully understands the theoretical material, demonstrates the ability to comprehensively analyze advertising and PR text, demonstrates independence in educational and research work; the student receives 60 points if he does not fully master the theoretical material, gives an incomplete description of the advertising and PR text, does not show independence in educational and research work.
