Prerequisites and co-requisites
Before starting the course, students should know the process and sequence of practical and written research work. Be able to analyze texts of different genres and styles. To have the skills of text creation and editing and elementary skills of scientific research, comparative method, to think critically and determine the parameters of the language norms of the original and translated text.
Course content
The purpose of the "Course work" is to develop students' skills for independent practical work, preparation for the execution of a bachelor's project in the key of practice-oriented research development. A course work is an educational and scientific work in which the student must not only demonstrate the ability to master scientific sources and operate on them, but also perform independent research. Therefore, for students of the educational program "Ukrainian and English languages: translation and editing", the most appropriate form of course research is a scientific study of a certain linguistic task of an applied nature or an annotated translation, which allows you to demonstrate the acquired knowledge of the Ukrainian and English languages ​​in the aspect of translation, editing, ethno-cultural and linguistic studies information, or a detailed linguistic examination of texts of a certain topic or authorship, which is a thorough study with professional assessment and comments.

Course work as educational and scientific research.
Assessment methods and criteria
A student can score a maximum of 80 points for work during the semester. The final assessment is conducted in the form of a differentiated assessment. During the evaluation, students present the results of the research (max. 10 points), the answers to the questions are also evaluated (max. 10 points). A student is not admitted to credit if he scored less than 48 points during the semester. Evaluation is carried out by the academic supervisor during the coursework writing and after mastering topics 1-8 in accordance with the evaluation criteria in the form of filling out the evaluation sheet.
