PLO 10. Know the rules of standard language and be able to apply them in practice. PLO 12. Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful completion of the following courses: "Introduction to Linguistics"; "Lexicology and phraseology of the modern Ukrainian language: practice of of the Modern Ukrainian Language: Practice of Word Use"; "Phonetics of the Modern Ukrainian Language: Orthoepic Norms"; "Morphology of the Modern Ukrainian Language: Spelling Norms". 2. Possession of methods of grammatical word analysis. 3. Ability to carry out lexical and semantic analysis of the word.
Course content
The discipline "Syntax of the Modern Ukrainian Language: Punctuation norms" (8 credits, 4-5 semesters) is included in the compulsory educational components of the educational and professional program "Ukrainian and English: Translation and Editing" program. The purpose of the discipline - to acquaint students with the basic theoretical provisions and concepts of the syntax of the Ukrainian language, traditional and modern views on the structural and semantic nature of a complex sentence; to develop skills in applying the acquired knowledge in practice, performing syntactic analysis of simple and complex sentences, to be able to apply punctuation marks, distinguish them according to the structural, semantic and intonational needs of use.

Assessment methods and criteria
The overall grade consists of the points obtained for classroom work (which includes preparation for classroom work - studying theoretical material; oral answers; writing independent and control papers, defending a presentation on a grammar topic); independent work (completing homework; preparing a presentation) - a maximum of 60 points,
and final assessment in the form of a comprehensive exam:
- a maximum of 40 points. The exam assesses the following learning outcomes: LO 1.1; LO 1.2; LO 1.3; LO 2.1; LO 2.2; LO 2.3; LO 4.1;
