PLO 10. Know the rules of standard language and be able to apply them in practice. PLO 12. Analyse language units, determine their interaction, and characterize linguistic phenomena and the underlying processes. PLO 17. Collect, analyse, systematize and interpret language and speech facts and use them to solve complex problems and tasks in specialized fields of professional activity and / or training.

1. Successful completion of the following courses: "Introduction to Linguistics"; "Lexicology and phraseology of the modern Ukrainian language: practice of of the Modern Ukrainian Language: Practice of Word Use"; "Phonetics of the Modern Ukrainian Language: Orthoepic Norms"; "Morphology of the Modern Ukrainian Language: Spelling Norms". 2. Possession of methods of grammatical word analysis. 3. Ability to carry out lexical and semantic analysis of the word.

The discipline "Syntax of the Modern Ukrainian Language: Punctuation norms" (8 credits, 4-5 semesters) is included in the compulsory educational components of the educational and professional program "Ukrainian and English: Translation and Editing" program. The purpose of the discipline - to acquaint students with the basic theoretical provisions and concepts of the syntax of the Ukrainian language, traditional and modern views on the structural and semantic nature of a complex sentence; to develop skills in applying the acquired knowledge in practice, performing syntactic analysis of simple and complex sentences, to be able to apply punctuation marks, distinguish them according to the structural, semantic and intonational needs of use.

The overall grade for the fourth semester consists of points received for classroom work (which includes preparation for work in the classroom - studying theoretical material; oral answers; writing of independent and control works, presentation defense grammatical topic); independent work (completion of homework; preparation of a presentation). All types of work for the semester have a total of 100 points in the maximum dimension and 60 points in the minimum dimension. In case of absence from the practical class, the student must independently study the material and complete the homework.
