Learning outcomes
PRN 1. Communicate freely on professional issues with specialists and non-specialists in the state, Polish, English and Lithuanian languages orally and in writing, use them to organize effective intercultural communication. PRN 10. Know the norms of the literary language and be able to apply them in practical activities. PRN 11. To know the principles, technologies and methods of creating oral and written texts of various genres and styles in the state, Polish, English and Lithuanian languages. PRN 12. Analyze language units, determine their interaction and characterize language phenomena and processes that cause them PRN 14. To use Polish, English and Lithuanian languages in oral and written form, in various genre-stylistic varieties and registers of communication (official, unofficial, neutral), to solve communicative tasks in everyday, social, educational, professional, scientific spheres life.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
To successfully master the course, the student must know the basic orthographic, grammatical, lexical and stylistic norms of the literary English language; have reading, writing, listening and speaking skills at the B1 level
Course content
The course involves the systematic acquisition by students of basic speech skills (reading, writing, active communication and listening) and the mastering of a large number of intercultural topics, lexical items, phrasal verbs, regular expressions, idioms, basic everyday conversational topics, which will enable them to navigate freely in the modern English-speaking world . The course involves the development of reading, listening, speaking and writing skills to the intended level (B2 according to the scale of the Council of Europe). Studying the basics of a foreign language is aimed at the formation and development of students' logical thinking, their foreign language speaking abilities, various types of memory, imagination, the ability to independently and critically work with the material.
