Learning outcomes
PLO 7. Understand the main problems of philology and approaches to their solution using appropriate methods and innovative approaches. PLO 12. Analyse linguistic units, determine their interaction and characterise linguistic phenomena and processes that determine them. PLO 14. To use Polish, English and Lithuanian in oral and written form, in different genre-style varieties and registers of communication (official, informal, neutral), to solve communicative tasks in everyday, social, educational, professional, scientific spheres of life. PLO 22.2. To know the culturally determined factors that shape the relationship between communicators in different communicative situations for adequate reproduction in translation from Polish and Lithuanian PLO 23.2. Apply knowledge of the Baltic-Slavic linguistic and cultural continuum in translation practice.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of philology in general and linguistics in particular. Understanding of language as the most important means of human communication, knowledge of the systemic and structural organisation of language (phonetic, morphological, lexical and semantic, syntactic, phraseological levels), knowledge of basic linguistic terminology, mastered by students within the framework of the EC "Introduction to Philology" (Part 3 "Introduction to Linguistics", Part 2 "Latin"), EC "Introduction to Specialisation" (Part 1. "Introduction to Slavic Philology"), EC "Modern Ukrainian Language and Literature" (Part 2 "Modern Ukrainian Language"). A prerequisite for successful mastering of the material of the multi-semester course "Practical Course of Lithuanian Language" is also knowledge of the basics of phonetic structure, vocabulary and grammar of the modern Lithuanian language, which were studied within the framework of the EC "Lithuanian Language".
Course content
The multi-semester discipline "Practical Lithuanian Language Course" of the comprehensive training of a specialist in the Bachelor's degree programme "Polish Language and Literature, English and Lithuanian Languages" consists of practical classes in the Lithuanian language. Within the framework of the discipline, units of all levels (phonetic, morphological, lexical-semantic, syntactic, phraseological) of the Lithuanian language are studied and mastered in accordance with the topics provided for in the programme. Lithuanian is taught on the basis of the basic principles of the communicative approach to learning a foreign language using authentic materials and modelling real-life communicative situations. The course involves the systematic acquisition of basic language skills (reading, writing, active speaking and listening) and mastering a significant number of basic everyday conversational and intercultural topics, lexical items, phrasal verbs, fixed expressions, idioms, which will allow you to freely navigate in the modern Lithuanian-language discourse space.

Assessment methods and criteria
Answers in practical classes, spontaneous monologue and dialogue, test (1 page listening), home reading / individual reading, test. The final number of points in the discipline (maximum 100 points) is determined as the sum of points for systematic work during the semester, taking into account the control work. The intermediate control is based on the results of the student's work throughout the semester and does not provide for additional assessment measures. Final assessment: none.
